Moreover, you can also pair the lock with 10 separate key fobs if needed. Also, it comes with a V4 handle that is compact but ergonomic. Setting the code is simple and the fob pairs up easily.

Bad For:

The lock was easy to install and works perfectly. Something to note is that the remote and key pad only work the deadbolt. The handle lock can only be locked/unlocked with the inside lever or outside key. I love the lock and don’t regret buying it, just thought because the remote had two sets of buttons it worked both locks.

This is a traditional lock that comes with a built-in deadbolt. At the same time, it’s a great choice for travelers who are looking for a no-nonsense lock. The lock is made from high-quality materials so durability won’t be an issue.

I found the overall finish to be top-notch and the white color made it look attractive in the RV door. It comes with four double edge keys. The installation is super easy and the product comes with all the necessary hardware, including strike plates and screws. Once fitted, the lock felt solid enough to deter any attempts of theft.

At first, the key felt somewhat stiff to start with. But after a few days of use, the operation got easier. You might use a few drops of lubricant to make the action even smoother. Besides that, it hardly needs any maintenance and can withstand abuse.

If you don’t want to run out of batteries in the wilderness, this lock is a practical and affordable choice.

I bough this after someone broke into my camper and broke my lock. It was so easy to install and the exact same as the OEM lock and handle. The big difference we have noticed that we don’t need to slam our door. I sprayed it with a little WD and wallah. it closes and latch so easy. I am very happy with it. Oh and it came with 4 keys. That was the big surprise.

If you’re looking for bullet-proof durability in an RV lock, this is a good product to pick. With durable metal construction and IP67 rated waterproofing, this lock is ideal for those who are taking long journeys into the wilderness.

Besides, you can operate the lock in three different ways- by using the keypad, key-fob, or the mechanical key. It also comes with 2 key fobs and 2 mechanical keys. As expected, you also get the necessary mounting hardware with it. The key fob comes with an effective range of 80 feet.

Now, not many RV locks come with good quality instructions for use. I found this lock to be one of them. The installation is simple and so is the programming part. Another thing is, the keypad is backlit for easy operation in the dark.

You also get an oversized gasket and a 4-in1 screwdriver with the lock. Last but not the least, the lock is covered by a lifetime warranty from Latch It. On the whole, complete peace of mind for you.

I researched several keyless entry for my 2020 forest river Sabra fifth wheel. I went with this one. Solid built, easy set up. The key fob batteries arrived dead, disappointed but no big deal. I was going to buy more, however the next day batteries arrived in the mail. I did not ask for them.
This is what customer service is about!

In the package with the batteries was an apology statement. In summary it stated they are a new family own business out of Florida. They thank me for the purchase. Then stated unfortunately we received word from our key-fob battery supplier that some batteries may come dead or low. they stated they was sorry for this HUGE inconvenience and it is UNACCEPTABLE on our part. Please accept the two batteries and use as necessary.

By doing this this company hit the ball out of the park!!
In closing, I have a two year old son, that does not close things easy. This lock will hold up to his high energy.

Thank you again, and thank you Rob, that sent the batteries.

Also please note, I rarely take the time to write a review. However I did to this time because I want others who are looking for a keyless entry to feel comfortable buying this product.

This is the second product from RVLock that impressed me with its performance. What I liked is the enhanced durability with steel construction. Along with that, it also offers superb ease of use and installation.

The overall design is compact and ergonomic. I found the handle good enough for comfortable use but users with larger hands might find it a bit smaller. The powder-coated body is weather resistant. The installation is also simple and doesn’t involve any cutting.

In addition, there’s a quicklock feature. Simply press a button on the pad to engage the deadbolt.

Coming to the keypad, it’s durable and convenient to use. I loved the amount of tactile feedback the keys offered. That really makes the device feel premium. Moreover, it’s also backlit for easy use in the dark. The lock comes with one key fob but you can pair it with 10 others.

Update 1/15/19: Found out that by holding the 1 number key down, the loud beeping noise can be silenced – yay! 2nd, found out that by holding the lock button down, the lock will lock. We were putting the full code in every time. So in short, this is a great addition to our camper. Wish the little tips were documented with the lock – found it out by calling RVLock’s help line. As a final – their help line was courteous and very helpful.

It fits perfectly. Nice quality. I’m overall ok/happy. Improvement ideas/considerations: 1) We can’t lock the camper w/o entering the full code. 2) The beep noise this thing puts out will scare away anything from the campsite – and will wake neighbor campers – maybe good? 3) Locking mechanism is only for one of the locks – meaning the “dead bolt” one. I guess that is ok… But you have to use the key to lock both. I know a window is a quick break entry – so not a big deal over all… 1 FOB, for $239, eh – that also stinks…

So I gave this a 4 star – and still worth getting despite my yuks about it… Who wants to keep up with keys when camping?! 🙂

This is an advanced keypad that uses touch technology to offer more convenience. The touchpad is integrated into the body of the lock and you don’t need to press the buttons. Also, the all-metal construction is durable and the installation process is simple.

The lock is designed to fit the existing lock cutouts of RV doors. Setting the code was also a breeze by following the given instructions.

I tried it with gloves on and the touchpad functioned fine. Beyond that, the device also comes with proximity sensing. That makes the keypad light up automatically during the night. There’s also a quicklock feature that adds to the convenience.

You can use a 4-digit pin to control the deadbolt. In addition, a set of mechanical keys are also provided as a backup. The keypad is operated by 4 AA batteries. Sadly, no batteries are supplied with the unit. While it offers great convenience, I felt that the long-term durability of the touchpad can be an issue.

Bad For:
I locked myself out of the trailer twice. The old lock allows you to lock the door from the inside by moving a switch. Unfortunately, you can still open the door from the inside without moving the switch and if you forget the keys, you can lock yourself out. I installed this and now I cannot lock the door without pressing the lock code or using the key. It has been a life saver for me. The dead bolt seems too skinny though. I thought it would be slightly bigger. I don’t know how long the batteries will last since there is no way to know how much charge is left. Great product. I should have bought it a long time ago.

RV Door Locks FAQs

Are RVs Easy to Break Into?

In reality, RVs have much less security than a residence. Keep in mind that most factory installed RV locks are the same and not of the best grade. That makes your RV less secure than you think and an easy target for criminals. So you need to take all the necessary precautions to ensure that your trip is hassle-free.

Is Switching To a Keyless Lock Necessary?

The advantage of a keyless lock is, you can always enter by simply typing in the code. So even if you have lost the key fob, you won’t get locked out of the RV. Moreover, even if you are away, others can enter the RV in case of any emergency. These factors make a keyless lock more convenient.
